I’m sure by the lack of posting on my end has put everyone on high alert. Just so you know, everything is FINE. Calm down, pull up a chair, and walk with me.
Yes, I know you can’t walk with me if you’ve just pulled up a chair. Just work with me here.
The reason for the silence on my end was just me having a blast. That’s right, a blast.
Miss Elizabeth flitted into the PHX early on Thursday morning and I used it as an excuse to meet her and Erika for lunch. Leave the office in the middle and eat delicious food? Uh… duh.
After eating delicious vegan food in Denver at Watercourse Foods, I knew I had to introduce Elizabeth to Green. We got the buffalo “wings” and some steamed edamame while we waited for our salads to come out. Seriously, I’m in love with those wings. Lurve.
I tried the spicy “chicken” salad, branching out from my normal choices to try something new. It absolutely did not disappoint.
I would also like to point out we went to Green on St. Patrick’s Day. Not even planned, but awesome nonetheless.
After getting through the rest of the work day, Brian and I met up with some friends to get dinner and have some drinks. We tried to find space at our local pub, but seating was non-existent, and we were hungry.
Next best option? Hit up a local sports bar with an inflatable leprechaun, green beer, and shamrock decorations. Worked for us!
I decided I wasn’t into the whole green beer thing and instead treated myself to a Guinness. Two, to be more specific.
Mmmmm, there’s nothing like a Guinness.
No corned beef and cabbage for this girl. My “irish” grub for the day was a veggie burger, side salad instead of fries.
Since we’ve become responsible adults, we left the bar after dinner and spent the evening chatting in the backyard, enjoying a few more beers. I was in bed by midnight. My 25 year old self would be aghast that I wasn’t clad in green, adorned with blinking green beaded necklaces and drinking green beer by the pitcherful. Well 25 year old self, your 31 year old self doesn’t like being hungover at work.
While the excitement of St. Patrick’s Day has waned a bit as we’ve gotten older, it was still nice to get out and celebrate!
Onto Friday!
