Wanna High Five Me?

Today was a big day for Amy.

Yeah, I just referred to myself in the third person.

Today, I talked myself out of lounging and into working out.  Whaaaaa?  After working 10 hours?

High fives all around!

Seriously, I’m talking about visions of myself running around in a wide circle high-fiving Brian, Shea, Siouxsie and Gritton over and over again.

Except Siouxsie would meow angrily while simultaneously trying to bite my hand, Gritton would think the high five meant I was going to fill up her water bowl which she would actually be lounging in front of, and Shea would nose punch me in the face out of pure clueless excitement.  Brian would play it cool though.  He gets me.

Seriously, I need to get back to a regular fitness regime.   The majority of my work day is spent sitting in front of a desk, staring at a computer screen.  Sure there is walking back and forth to get things done, but it can get pretty sedentary.  Since I’ve been getting home and not exercising, I’m starting to feel extremely sloth like.

Oh look, there I am on my way home!  I look pretty tired.

So tonight after dinner, I peeled myself off the couch and faced off with the elliptical machine.  I rocked out 30 minutes which were more of a challenge than they should have been.  However, the more I do it, the easier it will be.

Lucky for me, Brian had all the fixings for dinner warm and ready to be assembled when I got home, which was so nice.

We had the leftover burrito-ness for dinner, from which I built a delicious burrito bowl.

  • 1/2 cup brown rice
  • 1/2 cup black beans
  • grilled zucchini and yellow squash
  • quorn chik’n tenders
  • cheese
  • FF sour cream
  • salsa

I topped off the deliciousness with some Srircha.  I foresee a lot of brown rice, beans and veggies in my future for dinners, and this was definitely a winning combination.

Other eats

  • 1-egg omelet
  • giant salad w/ craisins, slivered almonds, goddess dressing

Yeah that was it.  Not good.  Today was busy and chaotic with IT all up in my business hooking up computers and other equipment, so I didn’t have much time to eat my snacks.  I am not a person who can go a whole day with eating so little on a regular basis without some sort of monster emerging on the other side.  Amy hangry is a scary, scary thing.

Since I didn’t get my apple in today, I was craving it after working out.  I’m not sure I can ever say I craved an apple, but tonight was on.

That is one good looking apple.  Yo, apple, whats up? Say hello to your mutha for me.
