Wedding Series: Getting Ready

Brian and I had such an amazing wedding, filled with amazing people, captured by our amazing photographers.

  Jason + Anna Photography blew my socks off  from the very moment I saw their work, and all they had up on their blog was one wedding.  That’s all it took.  I knew from that blog post I wanted them to capture our day.  I’m so glad we got introduced to them (thanks Sarah!), because not only are they our photographers for life (not sure they know that yet, heh), but are real life friends. 

After our rehearsal dinner, my sister and I went and stayed at an AMAZING suite at the Hotel Valley Ho in Scottsdale.  Not only did it have a large living room area, but a giant wrap around patio where the doors slip all the way open along the whole wall.  October in AZ provided gorgeous weather and a light breeze throughout the room.  We were brought complimentary chocolate covered strawberries upon arrival.  It was nice to finally decompress and de-stress.  I was surprisingly exhausted and had no trouble drifting off to sleep.

The next morning, after some delicious room service, the girls and my Mom started showing up to have their make-up done by my friend Lillian.  It was such a low-key peaceful place to get ready, with plenty of room to stretch out and relax.

After all hair was poofed and sprayed and all make-up applied and admired, we headed off to the venue to get dressed.  This is when the whole “I’m getting married” realization set in.  Seeing all the preparations flying around me and people asking questions set the whole day into a bit of a fast forward frenzy.  Luckily, Inside the Bungalow, had a lovely bridal suite where we could get ready in peace and air conditioning.  Also, the amazing owner, Carrie was on hand to work wonders on anything that might have gone wrong.
